WHAT IS SOURCE?
Eight composers, including yours truly, were chosen to attend the week long art song festival, August 7-12 in Minneapolis, MN.
The festival consists of concerts, rehearsals, coachings, lectures, masterclasses, forums, and much more!
Each composer was sent a book of poetry by Mary Moore Easter and tasked with choosing and then setting one of the poems. We were assigned a singer and pianist (also attendees of the festival) who then performed our new pieces on August 10th.
We also were assigned a professional singer and pianist to perform a previously written set of songs, which were performed on August 12.
